Open XSB File

The XSB format and extension files are used as reference files because they store a collection of sounds and signals created with Microsoft XACT, and in turn, these are related to the wave data belonging to the XWB files.

Microsoft XACT is a multiplatform audio creation tool, used to create video game sounds and with the ability to set the moment of incidence when they should be played in the game.

XACT is the acronym for Cross-platform Audio Creation Tool, it is an audio library written to use Xaudio on the Xbox, DirectSound on Windows XP, and the new audio stack on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

XACT and the XSB format were originally designed for Xbox development, but were later adapted and modified to work with Windows and its developments.

XSB files, as such, do not contain audio data, as mentioned above, they refer to wave data stored in XWB files. XSB files are used by various video games, such as Gas Powered Games programs.
