Open XMDX File
A file with an .XMDX extension is a file used to capture the answers of an exam, used by ExamSoft, an online assessment management program. It contains the final and complete version of an exam, which includes encrypted answers.
The XMDX file is created by completing an exam with SofTest from ExamSoft, and stores answers to the test. This file is located in the Answers folder in the SofTest installation directory on your computer. You can then upload the XMDX file to ExamSoft's cloud.
ExamSoft is a comprehensive testing software and allows you to control the entire testing process. It includes test development, application, delivery, scoring, administration, and analysis. It is commonly used in the fields of study of high school, college, university or even, courses of any kind.
To open XMDX file you need to double click on it. If Windows recognizes the file name extension, it opens the file in the ExamSoft program associated with the file name extension.
To open XMDX file, Windows needs to know which program it wants to use to open it, in case there is any problem, it means that the file may have an incorrect encoding or also some other possible error:
- Perhaps the extension is not spelled correctly: To correct the association of the file right click on the file, then select properties, and in the 'Opens with' section click on the 'Change' button, where a list of installed applications will be displayed and in which you should search for the appropriate application (SofTest or ExamTest).
- The file contains encoding errors: When a file has encoding error, then you may have to download it again from its source. The XMDX files are binary and cannot be edited in Notepad or Wordpad.
- The file is corrupted by a virus or malware: It is recommended to scan the file with your preferred antivirus.
