Open TIMESTAMP File

A TIMESTAMP format file is a data file created by mapping software from ESRI, for its acronym Environmental Systems Research Institute, such as ArcMap or ArcCatalog.

ArcGIS is a Geographic Information System (GIS) for working with maps and geographic information and includes a series of programs that are used to create maps (ArcMap) or catalog windows (ArcMap).

TIMESTAMP files contain information about edits that have been made to a file geodatabase (.GDB file), which stores geographic information. This makes it a registry type file, since it works as an auxiliary file to the system database.

TIMESTAMP files should never be modified or deleted, otherwise the geodatabase with which it is associated will be corrupted.

TIMESTAMP files are not intended to be opened by the user. They are referenced by the GIS application to access the geodatabase.
