Open SOL File

Solidity Script

A SOL extension file is a script written in the Solidity language, a scripting language similar to C++ and JavaScript.

It contains the source code written with Solidity, which is specifically used to create smart contracts for blockchain transactions.

Scripts written in SOL are used by the most popular blockchain platforms, such as Ethereum, Tendermint, and Counterparty.

Smart contracts are basically decentralized executable programs based on SOL scripts, which allow users to send crypto value to others using a digital currency, such as Ethereum.

SOL files complete cryptocurrency transactions and are processed by the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), recording information such as the sender, the recipient, and the amount transferred.

Upon completion of the contract, the transaction information is added to the blockchain.

SOL files are compatible with various programs with the Solidity plugin installed, such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Vim, and Sublime Text.

Flash Local Shared Object

In this use case, the SOL extension files contain user data and settings stored by Macromedia Flash Player 6 and later versions.

The SOL file performs similar functions to a cookie saved from a web page, but it is used specifically by Flash Player.

Flash player was discontinued on December 31, 2020, ceasing to function 12 days later.

To open a file with a SOL extension, you need to make sure of the format and then use one of the following software packages:
