Avant Browser is now discontinued and is a Chinese origin free web browser developed by Anderson Che which used Trident, Gecko and Webkit browser engines from which the user can choose.

The Avant browser was developed from the release of Windows 2000 and was compatible with later versions of Microsoft's operating system, including Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

Symbian OS

In this second application, and similar to the previous case, a SKN file is a skin file used by the Symbian mobile operating system, which is used mainly by Nokia mobile devices and smartphones.

Symbian OS was the software engine for the first smart phones and became the most popular and used operating system on the planet for more than fifteen years.

Symbian OS arose in the late 90's on the basis of the EPOC system that Psion had created for its PDAs in competition with Palm models.

In its beginnings, Symbian OS was used by various companies such as Sony, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens or Panasonic, although its true positioning occurred when Nokia acquired the Symbian company and used the system exclusively in all its terminals.

The initial idea was to establish a Foundation named Symbian and turn this operating system into an open platform for use by third-party manufacturers and operators, in the best Android style, but prior to it, however, the project did not materialize and once Microsoft bought Nokia's mobile division which focused on Windows Phone.

The SKN file contains display properties for the mobile device interface, including settings for the background image, title, labels, buttons, and icons.

Also, the SKN is used to upload a new skin to a device.

SKN files can be installed and edited using SymbianWare SmartLauncher and Skin Editor within a Symbian OS device.

It is necessary to emphasize that a file with the SKN extension must not be opened manually by the user.

In such a case, these are automatically opened by each suitable software, to change their own appearance.
