Open SCN File

SCN files are generated by medical imaging software and contain information in medical instrument specific format. SCN format can originate from Bio-Rad or Leica instruments. SCN Leica file format is described on Bio-Formats Leica SCN page. SCN Bio-Rad file format is described on Bio-Formats Bio-Rad SCN page. SCN file format could be parsed by Bio-Formats Library.

QuPath is capable of opening SCN Leica files. Besides SCN it can open CZI, iSyntax, BIF, MRXS, NDPI, and other medical imaging formats.

OpenSlide is a C language library which can open and read SCN file. It also has support for SVS, BIF, TIF, VMS, VMU, NDPI, SCN, MRXS, TIFF and SVSLIDE file formats.

In order to open SCN file make sure that you have one of the above libraries/applications installed and double click on the SCN file to open.
