Open RUN File
RUN files have three different types of use, namely:
Linux Executable File
A RUN file is an executable program file created for the Linux operating system, which contains an application in binary format that runs as an executable.
The RUN file, in this application, is similar to the Microsoft Windows EXE file.
To enable the execution of the RUN file, right-click the file, select Properties, click the "Permissions" tab, and check the "Allow run the file as a program" box next to "Run."
Rune Map File
In this application, the RUN file is a level map for Rune, a 3D action game that uses a third-person perspective and is based on high fantasy.
The RUN file contains map information but does not include textures or music data.
RUN map files can be created and edited with RunEd, a map editor based on the UnrealEd editor for Unreal 3D.
Runscanner Scan File
The RUN file contains information collected in a system scan by Runscanner, a startup and hijack scan utility.
The RUN file lists running programs, autostart locations, drivers, services, and hijack points found during the scan.
RUN files can be shared among users (via email, online forums, etc.) to help locate malicious processes.
