Open PTXT File

PTXT is a text file protected with Azure Information Protection service.

You can open PTXT file with Azure Information Protection client.

Files that are sent over the internet can implement rights management services protection in multiple ways. Several types of files support RMS natively by having RMS encoded directly into the file format. At the same time many file types do not support Azure Information Protection natively. In such case information in the original file is encoded and RMS header is added to the file. To differentiate the RMS encoded files their file extension is prefixed with letter "p".
