Open PIZ File
The PIZ file is essentially a Zip file created using Zip compression, but with a renamed file extension.
But what is ZIP compression?
ZIP is by far both an archive format and a standard, widely used to compress one or more files together in a single location, thereby reducing the overall size and making the files easier to transport.
ZIP files work in much the same way as standard folders on your computer.
However, with ZIP files, the content of the folder is compressed, obviously, depending on the format of each of the files contained, there will be a higher or lower level of compression between them, which reduces the amount of data used by your computer. .
ZIP files encode information in fewer bits and therefore reduce the size of the file or files by removing redundant data.
This is what is called "lossless data compression", which ensures that all the original data is kept intact.
The basic motivation for renaming a ZIP extension to PIZ is for an email attachment, in order to get through an email filter.
However, this practice is classified as insecure, since it can be used by hackers to execute attacks on your computer.
PIZ files, once received, can be renamed back to the original ZIP extension and opened later.
