Open DNA File
DNA extension files have various applications, some of them you will see below:
GenePool
In this section, the DNA file is a data file used by GenePool, an artificial life simulation game.
GenePool is a persuasive metaphorical game that uses the genes of a population and mixes and spreads them continuously, as if they were in a liquid.
There is a software considered a predecessor of GenePool, called Darwin Pond, which also makes use of DNA files, in their version and plain text format, while GenePool uses the binary version of the file.
Darwin Pond DNA files contain a fixed list of parameters separated by newlines, and each file is the same size.
DNA files contain the DNA of a creature that can be simulated with other creatures in a virtual experiment.
DNA is sometimes used for competitions to see which player's custom creatures survive better than others when simulated together.
Snapgene
In this case, the DNA file is a data file created by SnapGene, a molecular biology program used to analyze DNA data.
SnapGene offers a working scheme to plan, visualize, and document DNA cloning and PCR.
As such, the DNA file stores a DNA sequence and the associated XML and binary metadata.
DNA files are used to document, study and visualize DNA sequences.
SnapGene and the free SnapGene Viewer offer the ability to view data in several different views for DNA analysis.
CA Backup and Migration
In the latter case, the DNA file is a file created by CA Backup and Migration, a program used to back up the 'DNA' of a computer.
DNA file contains network, printer, system and application settings as well as files, folders, address books and photos, simply put, it is used to back up settings from the computer and to transfer settings from one computer to another.
