Open CALENDAR File

CALENDAR files are closely related to ICS files. ICS files are calendar type that are saved in a universal iCalendar format and are used by various email and calendar programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar and Apple Calendar.

CALENDAR type of file allows users to publish and / or share calendar information on the web and via email, either  for important dates, as well as work and personal meetings.

The information they basically contain is the event title, the summary, the start time and the end time.
